How can someone quit heroin for good?
My sister was heroin a user for about 5 years. It is now to take a substitute called Subutex. But it seems that people who use drugs substitute're stuck with it. How can we really let go of the drugs?? I am aware that many rehabilitation centers are there to help people, but in France, as everywhere else I suppose, it can be quite expensive to enter a private establishment. If you want to enter in other 'free' facilities, there is a waiting list, and there is absolutely no guarantee that you will be admitted for treatment. Can anyone suggest a sort step by-step program? Guidelines? Tips? A book about a specific program, step by step? Please do not tell me to send it to a rehabilitation center. I am currently looking at a center that would free her, but if it is not accepted, I need to know what we could do to help ourselves. I thank all users of My Yahoo colleagues in advance for any information and assistance. PS: anyone know what the 12 steps of recovery are to AA / NA?
This may sound facetious, but I'm not! The solution is to be with her and not going anywhere, you have to be with all the time! Cold turkey is the answer and deal with it aggreviation, insults, including its fevers and illness for at least three months and it will be OK? What if you have patients for her, but she is the only solution.
