India Outsourcing Figures
How many American jobs will be lost to outsourcing abroad before our government decides to regulate?
I am an engineer. I was used to a fairly large company that manufactures heavy vehicles off-road (wheel loaders and shovels and others). I recently lost my job because the top "superior" in my company has decided to reduce costs. They have hired an engineer from India to replace me at a fraction of the cost of my salary. I am middle class and when I see these people with six figure incomes, it makes me question their real value? They argue that it is really positive for our business and our ECONOMY, but as I sit here typing this, (unemployed), I wonder …. those who are benefiting? I'm unemployed. I do not build bulldozers longer but they are still under construction. These bulldozers clearing land for the house that I can no longer afford. The carpenter, plumber, electrician, etc. do not have a job because the house has never been built. They do not have to buy more tools either. Trucks delivering these tools will be stationed. I wish I could type more, but you get point!
You sound like a Mechanical Engineers. I suggest you move to an area where jobs were engineering "Internalized" in Japan or Korea. A Toyota Hunydai, Honda, Nissan or vegetable.
